Who is the AIA Academy?
The AIA Academy is the community outreach of the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA). The AIA is the governing body of Arizona high schools athletics and activities, a 501c(3) non-profit association of public and private high schools that was established by and for its member schools. The AIA Academy was created to assist community partners in the creation of a healthy and positive youth sport experience.
How was this program developed?
The AIA Academy was a natural evolution of the AIA initiatives to provide a healthy, positive and ethical sport experience in its member schools. The AIA Academy was developed out of the desire to assist community agencies in achieving the same goals.
What is covered in the coach clinics?
Our coach education programming combines practical instruction and classroom sessions focused on the role of the coach in youth sport, the ultimate goal of youth sport, characteristics of a quality practice session, healthy lifestyle issues and improving communication with your athletes.
Why should a coach attend an AIA Academy coach clinic?
The AIA Academy provides coaches with the skills and strategies to create a positive, developmentally appropriate, ethical and healthy sport experience for their young athletes.
What is covered in the parent workshops?
Our 90 minute parent workshop provides information and education focusing on the mission and purpose of youth sport, creating a healthy sport experience for the child, roles and responsibilities of parents and how to communicate effectively with the child.

The AIA Academy parent workshop helps to empower parents with the skills necessary to create a healthy sport experience for their child.
